b 1888 Hope Woodlands to parents John Webb (b Abney) & Sarah Alice Priestley (b Hathersage). 1901C living with grandparents at Abney Grange, 1911C living with father John at the ‘Pheasant Inn’, Sheffield Lane Top. According to family he emigrated to New Zealand without telling his father and enlisted at Hawkes Bay in 1916 with the New Zealand Forces. There is a Randolph Webb listed as serving but no more details, he got married in 1919 when he returned home. Half-brother of Arthur James above.
