ß Щ ă  17426 Guardsman, Coldstream Guards, later 1514 1 Sec 4 Coy Guards Machine Gun Bn. (SDT 13/11/1916; ill in hospital at Aberdeen). b 1894 Hathersage, son of William (general labourer) and Agnes Wilson. 1901C living at Bank Top, Hathersage. Brother of James Henry (Harry) Wilson, b1896. On 1918 Absent Voters lists his address is still, Bank Top.

It is thought he was the man who Hathersage and Outseats Welfare committee successfully worked to have awarded a pension of £2 a week in 1932, when he was then living at 1 The Hill, Outseats. The Ministry of Pensions back dated the award to June 1931. He was suffering from a nervous complaint, probably what was later to be known as ‘Shell-Shock’.
