(DC18/11/1916 & DC 11/9/1917 he is listed as Ill in Hospital).  (DC 7/4/1917 ‘Gnr Turner RFA visited his Crossland Road home this week on 10 days sick leave after malaria fever. Until recently he was in a Worcester hospital. He has two older brothers serving with the colours’). His Medal list shows he only served in France.  b 1896 Hathersage, son of Thomas and Annie Turner of ‘The Meadows’, Crossland Road. Brother of Fred, Thomas Wilfred, and Albert (and Arthur who didn’t appear to serve?), Shown at 6 Crossland Road in 1919 voters register, and as having a Military vote.
