Seems to have seen most of his action in the Mediterranean theatre, in and out of hospital with minor ailments – some small military infractions, but 28 days field punishment for being drunk while mounting police duty. (Army record listed him as Geo Samuel Broclehurst). b 1892 Bugsworth, Derbys, 1911C living at Broomfield Cottage, Main Road, Hathersage, a pin grinder, with his mother Maria Lowe Worth (remarried).

ă  184018 Pte M T ASC 179. b 1892 Sheffield. 1911C a mechanic living in Sheffield with in-laws and his young wife, Lena Brown, but 1918 Absent Voters list shows his residence as Dale House, Hathersage.

45932 Pte. S Staffs 3 Bn. Enlisted May 1918 (having been called up and reported for duty in March 1917, but turned away as under age). He was attached to R Berks before returning to S Staffs and then demobbed Jan 1919. b 1901 Abney Grange, then moved with family to Holt Farm, Edale. Brother of Joseph Bramwell above.
