GRAHAM, Jack William

Cpl 84958 RFA.  Wounded, GSW to knee.He served from 1914-1918 as a driver in the 50th-53rd battalion attached to the 9th Scottish Division and was involved in numerous campaigns including the Somme twice, and was also wounded a second time. On returning from France he was well known in the Hathersage village as a railway station porter. He died in 1974 and is buried in the churchyard. b1894 Totley. 1901C nephew (now an orphan as his father William Graham was dead) living with Isaac Watson at Hope.   Married 2/12/1918 to Leah Littlewood, b 1895 Hathersage. He lived in Hathersage as his medals were sent to him at Main Road, Hathersage. His son Walter contributed towards the Bell Ringing structure in the Church.
