BURROWS, Mary Geraldine

b 1892 Godalming, Surrey. 1911C Hove, Sussex. Her father Leonard was Bishop of Sheffield.  Red Cross knew her as ‘Molly’ Burrows, a night nurse, at Hathersage VAD Hospital, left after a few months, transferred to Special Service Manchester.

BINGLEY, Mrs Emily Ann

née Dawson. b 1864 Scalby, Scarborough, 1911C at Scarborough. Red Cross records; at Mayfield Terrace, Hathersage – Homeworker, knitting & needlework at Hathersage VAD Hospital. Husband Daniel Walton Bingley was a philanthropist who left nos 3 & 4 Mayfield Terrace houses to Dr Barnardo’s charity.

BENTLEY, Mary Ethel

b 1879 Sheffield. Red Cross record; 181 Rustlings Road, Sheffield, came from a medical family –Night Nurse, at Hathersage VAD Hospital. lost a brother Thomas Ernest Sgt 20th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers KIA 5/6/1917

BARRACLOUGH, Mabel
