Red Cross record; staying at Churchdale Hall, Ashford, Bakewell. (It is possible all the Fairholme family had moved there, and by 1925 they were at Eyam?) Assistant Commandant and Quartermaster at Hathersage VAD Hospital.

(WHW2W p 40 with picture). She was commandant of the Hathersage Red Cross VAD Hospital during WW1. She was awarded an MBE (DC 18/1/1918). b 1873 France., wife of Frederick Charles (above) living at Nether Hall in 1912 and later at Bakewell.  She died 1925.

née Wigfull. b1875 Sheffield. 1911C Hill Rise, Hathersage   Kit room keeper and in charge of mending at Hathersage VAD Hospital.

née Robertson b Sheffield 1862. Mother of Constance Muriel Gowers, below. Red Cross records: home worker, needlework & knitting, at Hathersage VAD Hospital, living at ‘Inglenook’ Hathersage. Also lodging there is Miss Blanche Chapman. Inglenook was the Downing residence in 1911C (although they were in Southport at the time).
